Privacy

There is no login here, no account, and no application form. We do not know who you are, what you searched for, or which employers you opened, and we have not built anywhere to put that information.

What we do not collect

  • No name, email, phone number or address.
  • No account, profile, saved jobs or search history.
  • No resume, work history, conviction history or immigration status.
  • No record tying you to any employer you clicked.

This matters more than usual for this audience. A job search can expose someone's name, their history, or the fact that they are looking at all. The safest version of that record is the one that was never written.

What does happen

Your browser

The page stores one thing locally, in your own browser: whether you dismissed the newsletter bar at the top. It never leaves your device and it is not tied to anything about you.

Analytics

We use the same privacy-conscious, aggregate analytics as the rest of our sites, to know roughly how many people used the board and which pages were useful. It is not used to identify individuals and it is not combined with anything else about you.

Our hosting provider

Like any website, our host briefly logs requests (IP address, browser type) as part of serving and protecting the site. We do not use those logs to profile visitors.

The newsletter

If you sign up for the WERQ Community newsletter from the bar at the top of the page, that signup happens on oregon.werqt.org and is governed by its own privacy terms. You give an email address there, by choice, and nothing about your job search goes with it.

When you leave for an employer's site

Every apply button opens the employer's own careers site in a new tab. From that moment you are on their platform, under their privacy policy, and they will collect whatever their application asks for. We have no visibility into it and no relationship with it. Read their policy if you are worried about what an application discloses.
